I’m so excited to announce that my story “Midnight At Red’s” has been accepted for publication in Oyster River Pages’s special issue, Delta. This is one of my earlier stories and one of my more important ones, or, at least, one of my stories that has a lot to say. Midnight At Red’s is about family, and poverty, and tragedy, and perseverance; it’s about the patterns in life that keep us going and the moments we can’t see coming or, if we can, can’t do anything to change. Like much of what I write it’s an escape narrative, and a story featuring people who have a lot of hope, even though they’ve never been given any reason to hope. Despite it being one of my favorites, it’s also been one of the most difficult to get published. I’ve very excited Oyster River Pages saw something here worth holding up and sharing.

My flash story “The Doughnuts Were Good, but Not THAT Good” has been accepted for publication in BAM’s 42 Stories Anthology. Wooo!!! Anyone who’s been in workshop with me knows that I rarely say in 500 words what I could say in 5,000, so I’m really excited about this one. Can’t wait to see the anthology come out.

Well, that's it: just wrote the last sentence for my novel. Rough draft officially done. And let the editing begin.
